Mysterious Lock-Ups
(AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 2.26GHz, 120.1GB HD, 1024MB memory, Radeon 9700)
So I am having this strange problem with lock-ups during gaming. I had recently switched back to Windows from Linux because Wine was giving me too much of a headache. I was using the latest Omega Drivers and things were running quite well until I accidentally let auto updates install SP3. After that, I started having frequent crashes. I uninstalled SP3, but it was still giving me hell. I decided to format and start fresh again. I installed the same Omega Drivers I was using the last time things were running well and tried playing the Left 4 Dead demo. After about five minutes, it locked up. I tried again with the same result. I decided to give the newest ATI drivers a go and uninstalled the Omega, but to no avail. I'm pretty much stumped. I don't understand what the problem could be, so if anyone has any ideas for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. |

Re: Mysterious Lock-Ups
Hi, when you say it 'locked up' what do you mean?
Does it crash, freeze, give and error at all or just Bluescreen? Have you checked temps at all?
