World in conflict problem

Hello i recently got world in conflict
when i play it about 10 minuets into the game i hear a loud high pitch beping sound constantly changing pitch and kind of glitching, the game begins to lagg a little and then i lose control of the key board so i can no long move around. I tried unpluging and pluging it back in but i have no control still and my ingame camera moves as fast as it can to the edge of the map can any one help me i realy like this game and dont want to miss out on it.

thanks

Re: World in conflict problem

heres more detail
my key board turns its self off as soon as the sounds begin
unpluging and pluging back in gives it power again but i still can't control it

sounds go with the game sounds if i do nothing away from combat you here nothing sound is complety gone
if you here explosions they just sound like muffled static with high pitch sounds here and there

only way i can quit is by turning off my PC

i have theroys its my sound card which is creative SB X-Fi

oh and i tried playing with my speakers off and nothing went wrong the game ran perfect

while i have sound the first 5 - 10 mins has minor lagg i do have the settings on max which my PC should be able to handle with ease

thanks to any who reply

Re: World in conflict problem

so from this article looks like creative labs purposely made crippled drivers for vista
http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/0...ve-fixing.html

a petition against the creative labs crap
http://www.petitiononline.com/crtvlabs/petition.html

I think if you install the drivers again under compatibility XP SP2 it may work.

I dunno about these `fixed`drivers but have a go if you want to.<http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/3...gy?tab=summary

Re: World in conflict problem

yea I kinda just put that torrent up because meh it was there and I don't really trust it too much either

when you install the driver for your sound card
you're going to have to explore the cd or folder that you download
right click on setup.exe
run under compatibility XP SP2

Re: World in conflict problem

im begining to think that it may be that my graphics cards are overheating
i played on space needle which i think is the most graphically intense map
my cards were on 79 and 76 degrees

could overheated cards cause these things to happen in a game also is that hot i've been told that the Nvidia 9800gt dosent overheat till 90 degrees but its the only thing i can think of

Re: World in conflict problem

graphic cards and cpu's run safely on very different temperatures

most cards idle temp is around 50C and the most work exhausting temp would be your video card temp 79C. it won't go any higher if you got a couple good fans in your system.

your game's sound wouldn't go since its separate from your graphics.
my new GTX 260 runs perfectly fine for 12 hrs running F@H GPU2 beta client at 79C
