Please help ( games running slow,choppy )
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have some problems with my computer and the games I play. I don't play any high tier games, only games I play are cs 1.6 and warcraft frozen throne. Whenever I start up my computer, I start up cs 1.6 I get perfect 100fps for the first 5-10 minutes, then it starts spiking like mad, ( for all the games ) What I think that is causing this problems is because ONCE i downloaded those window updates, it started to lag etc. I'm not really good with computers, I'm just a gamer. I have a very good computer, dont know about the grahpics card. 2 years ago I bought a 2500$ computer, and my graphics card is a Radeon 1200x/1500x. I don't think thats a good graphics card, but I think it should be enough for cs 1.6.. I don't know what to do.. in my apps, svchosts TAKE up alot of my MEM usage.. like around 30000. I have no viruses etc. WHAT SHOULD I DO!@!?! Please help. |

Re: Please help ( games running slow, choppy )
30000 is nothing, only like 30Mb.
Firefox uses more than that (for me at least). The spiking could be due to a bad power source or overheating. Use a program like Everest or SpeedFan to take a screenshot of your temps and voltages when the computer is idling, then take another screenshot when a game starts spiking. Post those back here so we can compare. In the meantime, give your computer a good clean out if there is a lot of dust clogging up the fans/heatsinks. |
