Evil The Sims 2

I have had the Sims 2 since it came out. I also have Nightlife, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, H&M Fashions & Glamour Life Expansion Packs. I tried to update my graphics card (ATI Radeon 9550/X1050 Series) and that's when my problems began. My Sims loads just fine, but as soon as I start to create a person or get into a house...IT CRASHES! I do download items on Sims Sites, however I deleted them ALL and started w/a clean slate, but the problems still persists. I've taken my PC to the computer store twice to be fixed and it comes back the same way. Can you PLEASE give me a solution to my problem?

Re: The Sims 2

hey, i have the same problem! mine is a windows vista and i even tried running the game in compatibility mode, but it keeps crashing on me. i have 3 expansion packs, it worked well in the beginning, but now the game loads perfectly ok, but when i tried to create a person or enter a house, it freezes and crashes!!
i've tried uninstalling and installing the games several times, but the problem still persists!! a friend of mine said that apparently i might be having a low RAM or something. i dont know! i admit i have no idea about my graphics card or even if i have one. i have uninstalled my precious SIMS 2 out of sheer frustration!!
i'll also looking for that angel of a person who could tell me what to do!!!

Re: The Sims 2

I have the same problem!!! I bought a Radeon 9550, updated the drivers after it wouldn't run properly, and now even with the updates the game crashes when a household finishes loading. This is so frustrating...does anyone have a solution?

Re: The Sims 2

Try downloading a Sims 2 patch off of the sims 2 site... sometimes that will help you.

Re: The Sims 2

delete the dirvers that you installed and install the drivers that came with the Video Card CD. You can use Driver Sweeper to remove any remains of your actual driver. after you remove it, restart your computer and run windows in VGA mode (to do that keep pressing F8 when the PC restarts till a command lines shows, and choose VGA mode). in VGA mode install the Drivers that came with your Video Card.
