Some Keyboard Keys Not Working In-game Only
I recently bought a new laptop and everything has been fine beside this one irritating issue.
For some strange reason I have been unable to use my page up/page down/tilde(~) key while gaming to do things like vote and open up the console. These games include Oblivion, BF2, and im almost sure any other game that has a console function. These keys definitely do work out-of-game. Im thinking it might be a driver issue but I have no idea which one or if that would even be the case. I tried changing my keyboard driver to all the different available ones and it didnt help. If it helps at all, I have an Asus M51SN-X2 and I am running the latest version of Vista. Ive come across this quote that might be my issue but I am running a laptop and will be unable to unplug this and I dont know which driver is responsible: "Unfortunately, if you are running Windows Center as I am, just hitting the ~ will not pull up the console. The Microsoft Infrared Remote Control receiver needs to be unplugged from the USB port. All this means is that you cannot use your remote when watching anything in Media Center until you plug it back in. Once this has been unplugged you can use the ~ button to pull up the console in the lower left corner of your screen when playing Oblivion and have fun in whatever way suits you best. " Im not even sure if I have an infrared remote control receiver built in??? Thanks in advance. Last edited by huapua; 09-12-2008 at 11:24 AM. |
