Laptop Won't run ANYTHING Decent
Alright, Lately I have been noticing that my games that I play on this laptop don't run very well, and when I look into what I should be able to run... I am very very confused on what the problem is.
Now I don't have the best set up but it should.... work Operating system: Windows vista Home Premium Processor: AMD Turion 64 .2 mobile technology TL =56 ~ 1.8GHz memory: 1470MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 10 Chip Type: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Total Memory: 537 MB All the games I play regularly..... CSS, Battlefield vietnam, LoTR BFME 1, Guild Wars, City of Heroes, A number of steam games... using the Source Engine. All of these games run like **** In CSS I get 14 fps.... why is that? even when I run in window, close all background programs, run on the lowest settings possible including sound and graphics, I get about.... 14 fps. (not to mention when I run it on the "recomended" settings I get 8.5 fps.) Now, I thought maybe it was just Valve games... but then I tried BFME and BF:vietnam When these games also ran like **** I started to worry. Seeing as my desktop 1.4 Ghz processor 256MB ram Nvidia Geforce4 mx440 That desktop runs ALL those games I listed... BETTER then my laptop. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?????????????????????? Any help would be nice |

Re: Laptop Won't run ANYTHING Decent
mby its something like:
A)your videocard is malfunctioning B)your computer is to full of stopid programms which slow it down C)you got a dual core processor for which the games are not designed (tho it should not make that much difference, atleast thats what i heard) D)your videocard is not supported by the game (but then the game shouldn work at all :P) E) something with your virus scanner/firewall blabla (I had a firewall once which slowed everything down i deleted it installed norton and everything was o.k. but these things might not be your problems at all because these are just examples of what COULD be wrong. you better wait for the expert's help. however, you might know something on your computer which could be the prob ^^ |

Re: Laptop Won't run ANYTHING Decent
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 is your problem, and I dont know what you can do about that in a laptop. Cant really go for a graphics card upgrade on a laptop.
My son's low-end Sempron system with an old ATI9600 walked all over my system - an AMD X2 dual-core - when I first got it simply because he had a graphics card and I had NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 that came with the computer. Once I bought a graphics card everything changed for the better. And that's your situation. But I dont know what you can do about it with a laptop. Try posting in the laptop forum. |
