Yeh Hey,
I'm having some troubles with Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. I have all the requirements that are needed and i know this because it was working perfectly before my issue had started. I got an ATI Radeon 9600 pro from a friend and i attached it to my board and it worked. I was playing oblivion fine and my friend told me install the driver for the video card. i did as he told me but after i did that Oblivion stopped working. I know it is the right driver because i downloaded from AMD and clicked on the right links and stuff. I installed and uninstalled it a number of times but still the same problem. The problem is that whenever i leave the tutorial and leave the sewers, the trees and some boulders in the distance starting flashing and then my comp reboots. Ive tried uninstalling the game various times without success. It goes onto re installing the game. so i installed the game onto a different hard drive and then i uninstalled that it and i'm am convinced that it deleted both oblivions because there is no trace of either of them. i installed it again and the same thing happened, as soon as i leave the sewers, it flickers then reboots. i can take 4-5 steps at the most before it reboots. I tryed turning down the graphics but its just not the same. I'm guessing it has something to do with viewing distance because it was fine in the tutorial but wen i leave the sewers it is a bigger world and it reboots. I've started a new game thinking it may have been a glitch like 3 times but the same problem happens. I've checked the heat of the video card but its normal and yeah. I'm just confused why the game doesnt work like it used to. I got half way through the game before i installed the driver and now i cant even tip off with the game which is gay lolAnd i've read other threads on this site and none are really the same problem as mine. so yeah any help will be very very helpful ![]() Dave. |

Re: READ: Oblivion Issues!!! Please Help!!!
Did you ever try patching the game? Here is where you can get the Official Patch that may fix this problem:
From the "Bethesda Game Studios Forums > Oblivion > Hardware and Software Issues: UnOfficial Technical FAQ" Sticky. Quote:
I expect when I do get Oblivion that patching it would save me loads of headaches....or might not have any problems with it at all. My card is strictly generic "Nvidia 8300GS" but it runs anything I want to play....including Oblivion (according to the "Can You Run It?" website) But I will not know for sure until I buy it. Re: READ: Oblivion Issues!!! Please Help!!!
Yeah Oblivion is a great game, probably the best single player game out right now. Too bad for the PC it has so many errors, I had a problem it would just crash randomly, all I did was update all my drives and it began to work perfectly, too bad it doesn't seem to work so well for you. =(
