Odd RAM problem...
Hi guys. New to the forums, and nice to see everyone. Now for my topic: I have a nice PC... has a dual-core processor Pentium 4, very nice performance in that regard compared to the other computer I have. However, it's not my typical "game" computer, so I don't have a lot of RAM installed on it. However, a short while back I plugged in a little 512MB module, to upgrade from the 256MB one I had in there. No big change, and it was free to me. However, ever since then, I'm actually having trouble running as many programs as I used to. I checked out the RAM, it's working fine. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this? Like I said, I understand basic stuff, but for this... I'm stumped.
Oh, and this is over in the PC gaming section, since this relates mostly to games, not to my other programs. For instance, I used to be able to play an online game called Second Life while I did other things, no problem with the 257MB module. Now, however, the game locks up pretty fast if I'm doing more than one thing in another window. I also used to be able to run about four instances of that same game, and now can't even run two.
