World in Conflict freezes when i create a lan game

Hi, whenever i create a lan game just to play with some AI bots, it freezes. I click on no humans, just bots and the first map, i think its hometown and add it to the list then i click create, and then the screen just stays at the create screen and i can't get back to my desktop. I have to restart. What happened?

I'm really sorry for necroing this thread, but I have the same exact problem. Does anyone have any tips. And yes, I'm using the full version of WiC, not any pirated crap or etc.

Here are my system specs:

Acer Aspire 4930G

Intel Core2 Duo processor P8400 (2.26 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3 MB l2 cache)
NVidia GeForce 9300 GS TurboCache
2GD DDR2
14.1 " WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD 320GBHDD
802.11a/b/g/Draft-N WLAN

I have 25GB free out of 143GB in my C Drive, and I have 114GB free out of 139GB in my D Drive. I have my retail disk in my F Drive and I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

Thirded. This occured running from a disk and from Steam.
Drivers and such are up to date.
Can play the campaign fine, though.

Is the game patched to the latest version?
Try adding -stabilityfactor 10 to the end of the Target path of WiC's shortcut.

no joy. Still freezes.
and it is fully patched as of yesterday. Steam does it automatically.
