FPS Droping Randomly

I am playing counter strike source on my machine and it usually ran the game just fine until this week.

My fps usually stays at 50-60 all the time but now about every 5 seconds it drops to around 2 fps for just a split second again and again. You can't play that game when your screen keeps freezing and I really don't know what to do.

Any obvious solutions? (I will post my hardware if necessary)

Re: FPS Droping Randomly

i had the same problem..

make sure you have all the newest and updated drivers ofc.

then, right click on your desktop.
go to Nvidia control panel, manage 3D settings with display.
set the 3D settings to perforance (Not Quality)

Load up steam/Counter strike source.

go to your options menu, click on Video tab, then Advanced.
On the Vertical Sync option, make sure its disabled.

Finally. when in game type into Consol "fps_max 500"

and after that you should be good to go hope this helps =)

EXTREMELY HELPFUL

I never knew about the graphics card quality settings or I would have changed it long ago.

Thanks
