Command Conquer Gold Fatal Error
Alright, so I downloaded the free C&C Gold Edition when I couldn't get the original CD version to work. I used Daemon Tools to mount the ISO files, and installed the game. I then installed the XP compatibility patch, and configured the C&C95.exe file to run in Windows 95 compatibility mode. Whenever I try to run the game, it gives me a black screen and nothing else. Exiting out of the screen is extremely difficult. I have updated my graphics card drivers, and even tried running the game while not in compatibility mode - nothing works. I read somewhere to burn the ISO to a CD, which I did, but I have no idea how the that is supposed to help - all it did is copy the file onto the CD, so I don't see how I can do anything differently with the file from the CD.
If anybody has any solutions to this problem, please let me know. I'm running Windows XP and my graphics card is an NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra. |
