Race Driver Grid: Logitech Z5500D speakers

i have recently purchased the game race driver grid, and it is amazing.

there is one problem, for some reason when i try to start the game with my Logitech Z5500D speakers plugged in the game will not boot and it crashes just after the splash screen. when i use my head phones the game works fine.

i was wondering if this has happened to any others and if so what can i do to fix it, because i bought the speakers for games like this one.

any help is very appreciated, cheers

maybe your sound card isnt configured properly.are you plugging in 3 seperate cables to run in 5.1?what kind of sound card do you have?

i am using the optical cable from the comp to the speakers.

i have the ASUS Striker Extreme with the sound card that came with it which i think is the "SupremeFX Audio Card"

also i have tried using the three cables and it still doesn't work.

the speakers work fine for other games and music.

i also tried unplugging the cable then starting the game up then plug it in, then the centre speaker doesn't work and the game crashes after about 5 minutes.
