Re: Please Help Me

Hi, welcome to TSF

PCs don't usually freeze after a few minutes of gameplay because of viruses. It's far more likely to be a hardware problem, possibly underpowered or overheating. Have the people who gave you this advice scanned your hard drive and found any infections?

Please post your full system specs (CPU, RAM, graphics card, PSU, etc.)

Have you tried playing at minimum settings and resolution? Have you tried updating your drivers and DirectX?

Which games are you having trouble with? Does your computer meet their minimum requirements?

Re: Please Help Me

A few years back, anyone playing games with the UnReal engine found them crashing with a popup error message. Turned out there it was a driver from the NewDotNet spyware causing it...after it downloaded into your machine. The word got around with the instructions how to root this out. After deleting the offending spyware, no more problems.

Although it might not be a virus, malware and spyware has caused some problems in the past. So you might want to scan your machine for any.

But really, you might want to post your game and your computer specs for further help.

Re: Please Help Me

You can reboot into BIOS to see your voltages at idle, but to see them under stress you need to use a program like SpeedFan.

Sometimes the voltages don't appear in these programs. This could be because the sensors on your motherboard are not supported by this particular program, so try another like Everest, SensorsView, PC Wizard, etc. The reading under stress (during 3D fullscreen gameplay) for +12V should be between 11.4V and 12.6V. Anything outside this +-5% range could indicate a weak PSU.

You say the problem solved itself but is now back again. Are you sure you didn't make any changes to any settings or installed any new files?

Which temperature is 36C? Hard drive, CPU, motherboard, graphics card? They all have different maximums, so it would help to know which one you mean.
