Re: Graphics Problem?
Hey, I am assisting Brhsoccer14 in working on his computer. I haven't had a chance to really look it over but I did check the temp and it was all green. I had Speedfan running when i opened up Battlefield 2 and WC3 and there did not appear to be any temp problems. His tower has several fans and the computer runs pretty cool. This was all at 2 am last night so I am going to check again after work. I am going to try and swap in my old GeForce 7900 GT in for his card and see if that is the problem. I am also worried about the fact that the video card was not screwed into the tower when I first looked at it. It was wobbling around just plugged in to the mobo. After I screwed the sides in it appeared to be working a little better. The games did not immediately freeze upon loading, but after several moments the graphics would all blur. If my 7900 works I am going to try to load his 8800 into my computer which has a 8800 as well that works fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Graphics Problem?
So here is what has happened. I installed the other video card and the problem was still there. Checked all connections again. Reinstalled drivers made sure all drivers were up to date. I figured out some people had problems with my motherboad Asus M2N-E and OCZ DDR2 800 ram. I tried turning the ram down in BIOS but no luck there. My head hurts.

Re: Graphics Problem?
Thanks for post.
So far i have reinstalled windows. Reinstalled all drivers and such.i heard the M2N-E mother board had problems with OCZ RAM and i went to their Tech support forum. And i know the the motherboard puts out a max of 1.95 volts to the memory. The OCZ support team said to set the timing to 5-4-4 so i did that and i lowered it from 800 to 667. As far as the power supply goes. The volts appear to be running fine i cant remember what they are like 3 5 and 12 ? but they were all around that area only off by a small amount. I am worried about the power going to the processor. I ran CPU-Z and it was running at 1.1X volts to processor. On the AMD website (he is running a AMD Athlon X2 5400) it said it was supposed to be at 1.3/1.35. I tried manually setting the power. I attempted to play the game again. go everything going on full graphics for over 20 min. then ... it messed up again. I am worried about the fact that the graphics card was not properly installed the 8800 is like a big brick just putting tons of friction on the mobo. I looked at the PCI-E slot and it didnt appear to have any noticeable damage i did not look around it too hard but it looked ok when i did look. Ill look again tomorrow. Another note when I started playing again after i installed windows again. I started receiving the BSOD and getting the whole memory dump thing. I didnt record it though i have to check on how to do that. But it appeared to stop doing that after i reset the memory timing. I havent received that message in a while but i did receive an error that said there was a problme with the NV4_disp display driver. Ill see if i can post my CPU-Z info on here tomorrow, but right now its late and i cant get to the computer Thanks again |
