COD 4 crashing

cod 4 crashes at start of game
start a new game then the task bar at the bottom of the screen flashes gets to a point in the into then freezes if u hit task bar it closes game down
Any idea's plz
tried a lot of video drivers zero result
and I meet all minimum stats

specs
P4 2.8ghz
2gig ddr1 ram
radion 1650 pro vid card
xp pro sevice pack 3(did same thing with service pack 2)

sons pc was plug and play mine just wont run

It means I asked to see your system specs, including the PSU (Power Supply Unit). Open the case and post back with the details from the PSU label (make/model, total watts, amps for +12V). It will look similar to the pic below.

A weak PSU is a common cause for your problem.

Is your Radeon 1650 AGP or PCIE? AGP cards needs a minimum of 18 amps on the +12V line, and PCIE cards need 28 amps, which is why the PSU details are so important.

i have the exact same problem as katamando, but i got a little farther. Katamando, install the latest patch then run the game, leave it for about 5 minutes then the game will go into the logo screens. do not skip the logo or cinematics!!! the game will crash! i got to play part of the training mission. when i go outside, my game freezes and goes to error mesage.

A lot of people have problems with the latest patch. Reinstall and try the 1.6 patch instead? You could also look for help here: http://cod4boards.com/cod4-pc/
