Hi there,
Well I recently installed one of my favourite games Battle For Middle Earth 2 on my Windows Vista Business N setup and everything was working fine until I went online and found that an update was still available, even though I had fully updated to V1.06. Upon clicking to confirm to update, the game locks up and I have to forcibly close it via the Task Manager. I have chosen the Check For Updates option within the Start Menu although the message "No Updates Available" or similar appears, so what other updates are there? I know for a fact that this game will run perfectly well on this system since it worked incredibly well when I had Windows XP Media Center Edition. The only change since installing it on XP has been installing Windows Vista Business N and improving the RAM from 2.5GB to 4GB. I have also tried reinstalling the patches and the entire game twice to no avail, and even after several restarts. However, it did appear to work once earlier today but was very slow and never worked since or before then. Below are the main specifications of my computer: Operating System: Windows Vista Business N Processor Pentium 4 3.0Ghz HT Graphics: 256GB ATi Radeon X600 Series Hard Drive(s): 185GB Internal SATA, 500GB WD External HD, 145GB External HD RAM: 4GB If anyone can help out with this as soon as possible I would be really grateful. I even got desperate and installed the game on my laptop but that has 64MB shared graphics so obviously it wasn't going to work :( |
