LCD screen goes black when playing

I have a Asus A8JP. 2 gigs of ram, 2.0 ghz processing speed.

Whenever appx 30 minutes into any game, my laptop dims all the way to black. There is a brightness button on my laptop that if I press it the screen brightens back up fully, but seconds later it darkens all the way back down again.

The only thing I can think that is making this happen is that I underclocked my processor because some of the temps were getting pretty high. But I put them all back to default later on (well close enough to defaul anyways).

But even when I had it underclocked, it ran all the games fine, without any dimming of my screen.

This only happens when playing video games. Never happens while watching movies, or just playing around the net. Any help?

Re: LCD screen goes black when playing

Check you laptop's Power Options (some laptops have their own vs Windows).

When playing games you should use the AC Adapter, then set the Power Options Profile with AC, Never everything, also disable Hibernation.

WARNING - This is for the AC Profile ONLY.

Re: LCD screen goes black when playing

I have something called Power 4 Gear. Its always in Super Performance mode, which is the AC mode. I believe I do have hibernation disabled, but Ill check when I get home.
