[SOLVED] Shivering Isles

O.k. Here's the problem. I'v been playing oblivion for quite a while now and finished it about 3 times I then got Shivering Isles and installed it. During the installation, everyhting went fine. No errors or anything, smooth as can be. But when I load the game, and wait the a day i dont get the quest started for the gate. I tried swimming to were it should be but there was nothing. I even tried using the console command that takes you to the exact spot were it should be and ended up under the surface of the river bed. In a last effort I re-installed everything and applied the latest patch. Still no dice. I cant think of anything else to try.... Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Shivering Isles

Well yeah I installed the main game first but all the mods were already in place. I thought they might be deleted after I uninstalled the game but when I re-intalled they were there already.
As for the list of mods they are as follows:

Active:-
Allinonebasement
ArborWatchGuardsV2
BrumaHouseGuards
BrumaMGRestored
DB_NightMother Money5k
lucienLastchance
mnp Nighteye Goggles
Pek_Halls_of_The_Phoenix_Order
Reznod_Mannequin
SkingradGuards
WOTFH_1.3

Inactive:-
Gift Of Kynareth
Transmutation
Ungarion1TheWelkyndSword
Sparring Mod

Quite a list...

Re: Shivering Isles

i would try running with all of the mods turned off... then do the quest to get there... you dont necessarily need to keep them off, thisll just check to see if one of them is the issue

Re: Shivering Isles

Sometimes unchecking Oblivion.esm (Master File) will make the expansion pack work.
A common bug in Vista i found out.

Re: Shivering Isles

O.k. First I tried disabling all my mods. No change. I then Deleted all the mods, still no change. Finally I tried Aus_Karlos's idea and disabled the master file. That didnt work either. I'm running out of hope pretty fast..

Re: Shivering Isles

Try removing the Mods out of the Oblivion folder and uninstall the game. Reboot and then install oblivion. Run it once exit and install Shivering Isles and see if it plays.

Re: Shivering Isles

Nope. I do know sumthing is happening though because when I run the game with the shivering isles esm unchecked, it brings that notification when you start the game that some content may be missing.

Re: Shivering Isles

I know this is a long shot, but i'm going to try using my brother's data file, which works with the same shivering isles CD. At least then I'l b able to tell whether the problem is with my game.

Re: Shivering Isles

Well the bad news is copying my brothers data file didnt work but I did some research and manage to fix the problem. Just so anyone else encounters this problem I'l put it up.

Go to the link below and scroll down to the "Vista Compatibility" sub heading under "PC Specific Issues".

http://bethblog.com/index.php/2008/0...shooting-tips/

If that doesnt help, there are alot of other solutions on the page that might work so I suggest you read them.

Thanks for everyone's help though.
