Basically i find it difficult playing call of duty 4 without leaning its just my style of play. Lean crouch shoot w/e.
Well when i press E+D which make me lean right and move to the right it works perfectly but when i do A+Q which is lean left and move left i just get the annoying beep sound coming from my speakers and PC. I really need help to sort this out. Could it be my keyboard? It worked fine in Call of Duty 1 + 2 Thanks :) |

Re: Call of Duty 4 Lean Problem
I believe it is your keyboard. Some of the newer cheap keyboards, and even some more expensive ones have wacky, senseless rollovers. I use an old IBM Model M, and it works perfectly for all the games I play, CoD4 included (and I do utilize the both leans during play). It hasn't beeped at me yet.
Which make/model of keyboard do you have?

Re: Call of Duty 4 Lean Problem
Do you have any other on hand that you could try out? You'll probably want to rule anything else out before you go replacing it... but the n-key rollover would definitely be my guess as the culprit in this case.
As for a recommendation, I have been using this model keyboard: ![]() For the past few months, and it is hands down the best I have ever used for any task, period. It doesn't have windows keys or a menu key, and it's really loud (keys click), but I couldn't even imagine going back to a rubber dome style keyboard. You can get one like this for 20 bucks on ebay, but I got mine out of a dumpster when I was a kid and hadn't used it until recently. As an added bonus, when the springs click, it sounds exactly like the M4A1 sopmod from CoD4 :D

Re: Call of Duty 4 Lean Problem
I've learned long ago to not question things when they start working again :D
