18 WoS ALH Not working, HELP!

Ok So I bought the game 18 Wheels of Steel American Long Haul, I installed it and everything, i'm not new at this sort of thing.

Anyways when I start the game the logo of "Rated E for Everyone" comes up in the middle of the screen and then the game just stops. I have to press CTRL-ALT-DELETE to end the task, but its still is responding.

I refered to the FAQ on the americanlonghaul website and updated my Graphics driver for my NVIDEA GeForce FX 5500 video card.

Please help me, Thank you

Ok New diagnosis...
So when the " Rated E for Everyone " logo comes up, at first it is really faint, but then it gradually becomes brighter, and so on. Then it fades out slowly.. The next two logos do the same..
And then finaly the main menu comes up and the mouse moves after a delay of like a minute.
It takes about 10 minutes to get to the main menu page. Please Help.

I have same problem as you just not as bad. It may be a number of things. I have to turn alot of stuff off, 18 WOS wants to run by it self. When I had 1G of ram it didn't work now have 2G. Try run it with custom install of windows using (msconfig) Start, Run, type: msconfig. start with turning of startup programs see what happins don't forget to turn everything back on after done with game for normal operation. Also try running a spyware program do a full scan. I had 4 spys on mine, got rid of them and it seems to run smoother. If none of this works you may have a hardware problem. Cpu, ram, sound card, grafic card, power supply, CD/DVD rom. Good luck!

I found out my problem, my mouse (LED Optical) was for some reason the cause of all the problems on my computer. Went back to my old one (Ball mouse), now I can play the game while everything is running.
