very sluggish gameplay help pls??

Hi, can anybody help??

I have a new laptop running windows vista video card up to date with drivers. running active x 10 I downloaded my monthly game from bigfish very large version 515mb of journey to the center of the earth.(fujitsu siemens esprimo v5535 laptop) can play smaller games fine.

As game starts can play o.k but going into other scenes etc got no mouse control at all and is running so slow hardly moving at all, I dont think I need to download anything and comp got plenty of space any ideas pls what I can do to improve gameplay comp rated as 3.0. I used to download large files games when on windows xp and the worst scenario was poor mouse control but games run at speed.

someone is much more cleverer than me to help me tyvm
