Why pay $100 - $200 to update to vista when all you want is DirectX10?
Why not use the money to get a new Graphics Card instead?

Gamers be happey DirectX10 is now 100% working on windows XP and 2000 because of the Alky Project. All versions but 64Bit.
**Note this is not supported by microsoft. Do not use this on vista.**

Download DirectX 10 for Windows XP is available now. You can download it now. It is said to work for Windows XP and with directx 10 games and graphics card, they should be able to play directx 10 compatible games like they play in Microsoft’s Windows Vista -- Alky Project

Some games will not work after installing DirectX 10 on XP.

To get those games working after installing DirectX 10 on XP you will need to use the KM-Software DirectX Changer 1.0

The program is intended to change your version of DirectX from 9 to 10 DirectX on the fly. This will enable you to play many new and old games.

Im a heavy gaming and i would rather stick with DX9. With a few config tweaks you can get DX9 to look like DX10 (Like Crysis). Even the original DX10 from MS has that many bugs its worse than DX9. So who knows what problems lie in this emulated version. (Maybe none but who knows).

This works on my pc. Also for those games that will not work under DX10 I you the "KM-Software DirectX Changer". It work for me every time. I even have a DX10 video card working 100% on windows xp with this installed.
