[SOLVED] TF 2 Widescreen Option???
Can I change to Widescreen for Tf2 without getting a permanent Black Screen?
That is my question. Yesterday I changed the video options to widescreen 6:9 and 6:10 thinking I would recieve a better resolution. I recieved ablack screen that said video not supported I think The resolution was around 1300 X 960 or close to that setting.... So now when i open TF2 its just a black screen I can't even CTRL ALT DELETE out of it ....I just hit the log off button on my keyboard and then it will exit. - I have all the updates for my X1600 512 MB ATI . - Second time having TF2 installed everything worked fine before I changed the Widescreen opitions. - I have a widescreen 22' Acer monitor. - Vista 32 bit - Yes i have the minimum requirements and directx 10 installed. - Changing the load options to a lesser -dx level doen't help... - Lastly , is there a launch option to change the video back to normal? So I don't have to unisnstall?????????? Any help would be appreciated. :) |

OK it looks like I solved the issue all by myself.
For anyone having the exact same issue, or need to reset to TF 2's original settings, just type : "-autoconfig" in the launch options. To get to Launch options Right click on Team Fortress 2 under the My Games tab in Steam and go to Properties. You'll see it in there under the General Tab. ![]() I now have my game resolution set to 1260 x 1024 (LCD) And It makes a huge quality difference between standard resolutions. So if your running a widescreen LCD use this option. I wouldn't recommend the 6:10 widescreen option in the TF 2 video Options menu, Or else you'll get stuck with the Video Not Supported image. ![]() Last edited by Deviance : 06-26-2008 at 09:52 AM. |
