Computer Crashing in Medieval 2: Total War

This happens in both the expansion and the first version, only happens on my current PC, worked fine on two others

Once a battle starts it crashes somewhere from immedietly to half-way through the battle

Once Windows XP crashed and I rebooted, I got an error message that said these were the files affected or something..?

C:\DOCUME~1\Charlie\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER01e0.dir00\Mini062308-02.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Charlie\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER01e0.dir00\sysdata.xml
