Age of Empires II

Hey,

Both me and my friend are using Advent laptops, running Windows Vista HP SP1. We have installed Age of Empires II (both with and without expansion) with the hope of playing against one another, however when attempting to create a multi-player deathmatch against eachother we are unsuccessful. I have hosted a game (using LAN IP/TCP) which my friend is unable to find. When he hosts a game I am able to see his game listed, however cannot join (Joining failed).

Does anyone have any idea how we could sort it out?

Cheers people,
Dean

Re: Age of Empires II

That is the firewall blocking the game. Go to the Sercurity Centre and add Age of Empires 2 to the expections list. Do this on both computers. I have run into that problem before.

Re: Age of Empires II

I've made some firewall exceptions, which port is it I have to have to allow? I did allow AOE when my firewall requested my action. So surely AOE is allowed by my firewall, and my mate's.
