Spore Trial not loading; Goes to black screen then reboots my computer.
Okay so I downloaded the Trial version of the creature editor and I go to run it and it just goes to a black screen then restarts by itself.
Now I already updated my drivers, DirectX, and have no idea why it is doing this. I fear it has to do with my video card. My Specs Pentium 4 CPU 2.0 GHz 1 Gig of Ram Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro XP Now I believe the problem is my Radeon card which the updates suck ***. Now any clue how to correct this problem? |

EDIT This time, when I tried to open Spore I got one extra screen before going black and then my Desktop. It was the EA logo. Last edited by DrerAhv : 07-08-2008 at 10:20 AM. Reason: Change in reaction when opening Spore |

Re: Spore Trial not loading; Goes to black screen then reboots my computer.
hey guys, saw the thread coz i was havin the same problem, damn thing made me register :@
anyway i think i have fixed my trial version so it works every time 1) enter the directory tht u saved spore to (e.g C:/prog files/ ea/spore) 2) go into the 'sporebin' folder that is found there. 3) in here you will find the spore creature creator.exe file (the only file in there that has a logo). Copy this file by 'right click/copy' 4) go back into the previous, main directory. and paste the creature creature.exe in there. (e.g C:/prog files/ ea/spore) 5) you may/should now be able to run spore from this file. DO NOT run spore creature creator from your desktop shortcut, use the file you jus pasted to open it up! 6) that made my spore creature creator trial work. i also turned off my firewall, i dont know if this helped, but you could try it either way. Hope it helped you, like i said, this helped ME fix the problem, i cannot guarantee it will solve your problem Good luck,,, seems like a good game :) Ryan.
