Issues with diablo 2 on vista and more

Ok guys here's what's happening. I'm trying to play diablo 2 without the expansion on my new dell inspiron laptop. The first issue i had was well i didn't have a play cd as i missplaced it and the house kinda burnt down so i'd say its gone for good. I have the install disk, cinematics disk and cd-key. So to bypass that minor annoyance i downloaded the diablo play cd iso from a torrent. I then mounted it with daemon tools and installed the game. I then patched it to 1.11. However even with the play cd mounted using daemon tools it still asks me to insert the play cd. I then tried mounting it with Alcohol 52% and Virtual clone drive to no avail. I also after mounting it using daemon tools burnt it to a dvd. I can install it using the burnt dvd as teh play cd but it still asks me to instert the play cd when i try to play. I also tried a no-cd crack i believe is called d2loader which also didn't help. I tried running diablo 2 in different compatability modes for xp and for windows 2000 but that also didn't do anything. What should I do now?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

edited: being an idiot and not reading the stickies before making this post is not something i'm proud of. Happy to say i have uninstalled and re-installed several times, my drivers are up to date etc. My specs are dell inspiron 1720, 2.4ghz intel duo cpu, 3gb RAM, NVIDIA 8600m GT 256mb graphics card.

Sorry about that,

Andrew

Hi SLACkra, welcome to TSF.

The only advice I can give you is to go out and buy the game again. TSF rules prohibit us from assisting in cracked/downloaded games.

Re: Issues with diablo 2 on vista and more

Ah ok, I thought it would be ok because in reality it is completely legit I just had to download the play cd. I'll try some other forums.

Thanks anyways,

Andrew
