Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

Hello everybody,
I feel a bit desperate here. I recently bought a new machine mainly because i wanted to play Medieval 2 Total War. My new machine was 2.4 Quad Core 2, 2x1 gb RAM, ASUS 8800GTS 320 MB. I could play Medieval 2 Total War online without any problem! A few months later i got this game World in Conflict and i was shocked when i could only run the game on low settings. if i ran it on any higher it would either freeze, restart the pc, or pop up a blue screen of death. Then i got another game Call of Duty 4 and i cannot run it on any detail level without having it crash after the 30th minute. I tried a program to test my ram, i removed and tested ram, i tried different graphics drivers, i ran /chkdsc but nothing seems to fix the problem. I can surf the net or play smaller games for hours and hours. i can leave my pc on for 48 hours and have it run just fine. i can watch movies without any problem, chat, play music etc. But whenever i want to play Call of Duty 4 it just crashes after the 30th minute and i get a BSOD with Stop 0x50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
I came to the conclusion that my pc gets the STOP 0x50 when i overload it with heavy games but it exceeds the requirements of the games so i shouldnt have any problem with them

btw my power supply is 400W or 350W and my HDD is 320 GB

can anyone help because i...

PS: i visited the event-viewer and found that there was a common error 1003 ER_KRNLCRASH_LOG

there were also a few other errors in the event-viewer but none of them seems to cause a bsod and they sometimes go one after another in the list while the 1003 error comes in the middle of a process and the next processes prove that i was restarting my computer

Re: Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

Hi,

You can't run an 8800GTS with a 350-400W PSU.
Get a quality 600W.

Re: Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

i don't think there is much doubt
running a 8800GTS you need to be in the quality psu's in the 650-750w range

Re: Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

An underpowered system can produce all kinds of error codes.
You have to replace the PSU - the one you have is much too weak.
If there are problems after replacing the PSU, we can look at that.

Re: Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

Reinstall your graphics driver. What was the Stop Code on the BSOD?

What make/model is your new PSU? If you haven't upgraded it yet, you're going to continue getting BSODs, errors and crashes, and possibly cause permanent damage to your graphics card and other components.

Re: Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

Post back when you fit a new PSU that is more suitable for an 8800GTS. If the card isn't already damaged, you should see the errors disappear once you have a good quality PSU with at least 26A/+12V.

Re: Stop 0x50 While Gamin'

If you look at the label on the side of your PSU it will list the amps for +5V, +3.3V and +12V.

The +12V value determines what kind of graphics card you can use. AGP graphics cards need at least 18 amps, and PCIE cards need at least 26 amps.
