Installking Stalker-Shadow.. Freezes
Hi guys.
Vista 64-bit ultimate AMD 64-bit X2 - 5400+ 4gb of Wintec PC2 6400 ram BIOSTAR V8502GT51 GeForce 8500 450W PowerLab SATA WD 250gb SATA SONY DVD-RW It just freezes.. this is what happens: You go to install, the DVD ROM starts buzzing(A unique buzz, does not do it this loudly WITH ANY other DVD/CD), it starts installing... when monitoring temperatures - CPU LOAD % does NOT go up that high - maybe to 15-20% - Temperature goes through the ROOF. CPU goes up from 38C to 55C within 15 seconds. It installs for about 25 seconds, before it locks up.. but it's not a full lock up. I can move my mouse, toggle between windows, etc.. but i can NOT open ANY new programs. I can not FORCE CLOSE the install, it jsut says NOT RESPONDING.. EVENTUALLY, it all freezes - and you have to do a hard reboot. I'm not sure what is up. I was thinking for a second, maybe the Power Supply? DVD RW? I'm not sure. But, it doesn't make sense because I installed Windows Vista via that same DVD-ROM.. and I installed a game prior to this one.
