Re: call of duty 4 issue

Hi foot, welcome to TSF.

1. I have to ask, is this a legit copy of the game, or a borrowed or downloaded copy?
2. Is there a dll file of the same in in your system32 folder?
3. When you reinstalled it, did you uninstalled the game then delete any folders that weren't deleted and then install it again?
4. Are you sure your computer meets the minimum requirements? (this isn't important for the problem you're having at the moment, but it's to save you having problems in the future)

Re: call of duty 4 issue

The system32 folder is at: C:\WINDOWS\system32. There will be a fair few files there, have a look around to see if you can find a file called mss32 or mss32.dll (press m will take you to the first file that starts with m, pressing it again will take you to the next one)

Re: call of duty 4 issue

Ok.

Pop the CD back in and browser through the folders to see if you can find the file on it. It's better if you find it and use that one, but for some reason if you can't, I'll attach the dll to the next reply.

Re: call of duty 4 issue

Hmm, that's weird, then it should recognise it. Try copying it to the system32 folder.

Re: call of duty 4 issue

I'm guessing it was a corrupt install. Maybe try once again. Delete everything when you uninstall it and perhaps try a different location/computer is possible.

Re: call of duty 4 issue

It could be the CD itself then. It might be corrupt and I'm not sure if you can copy it to your computer.

I'm out of ideas. Hang around and if someone else has anything to add, they'll surely let you know.
