Need Help With Fraps
Hey,
I'm writing here because I'm having some trouble with Fraps. I know its used heavily by gamers which is why I'm posting in this forum. To give some background, I'm trying to take a screenshot out of Windows Media Player 11 in Windows XP and it isn't working. Pasting it in paint or saving as a JPG includes the running content in the file (it actually appears as a video) and closing down WMP turns the screen in the image to black. So, I installed Fraps 2.9.4 and I'm using the default F10 to take screenshots using the default settings and nothing is going into the folder. I'm beginning to think it's a hardware issue or an OS thing. I've checked all the WMP settings (overlays are unchecked). Also, Ctrl-I does the exact same thing as PrintScreen. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Need Help With Fraps
Within WMP, the Hardware Acceleration scroller under Options - Performance is actually grayed out right now and I can't seem to enable it (the setting is at full but I can't move it). I tried changing the settings so that it's not stuck in this position but I can't seem to get it to work.
Fraps seems to work in other contexts on the computer but still not in WMP. |

Re: Need Help With Fraps
OK, I tried that solution and as soon as I play a DVD in WMP, I get "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close...". The scrollbar is still greyed out. Is this a nasty Windows Media bug?

Re: Need Help With Fraps
The only thing that is open is Windows Media Player 11 and the web pages and nothing is running in the now playing viewscreen. I still can't access the video acceleration bar, is there a way to enable my access to this bar ?

Re: Need Help With Fraps
The only reason I can see that bar being disabled is because something's using WMP.
Ok, don't worry about the Video Acceleration. In the performance tab, is the option "Use Overlays" checked or unchecked?

Re: Need Help With Fraps
I missed that in your first post, sorry.
I did a bit of searching and found out that Fraps isn't the best option for taking screenshots from WMP. http://www.techsupportforum.com/micr...aps-ssing.html Perhaps another program may help you do what you are trying to.
