does crysis drain RAM?
I have 2 1 GB crucial ddr2 sticks have the option for two more. I bought crysis and installed it last night. I have played other games on high/ultra high before with out problems. I was playing crysis high/ultra high/and med and all settings where really causing alot of lag almost freezing in high demand situations (gun fights running through jungle) high demand as in graphic wise. Do you think this is possibly a low amount of RAM and I should invest in more?

Re: does crysis drain RAM?
Hi,
What model is your Athlon64 X2? 650W is not enough to be running a 9800 on. I have a single 8800, and I use an 850W. Click on "Power Supply Info" in my signature, and have a read. The thread also has links to PSU's in the right range for your system. Not providing enough power to your video card is basically like holding it back with a leash. It's trying to give you its best, but you're not letting it run - it could be the cause of your problems. In addition though, please click on "Common Game Issues" in my signature, and run through all the steps listed there.

Re: does crysis drain RAM?
one thing i'm sure vista might have something to do with it also, i've played crysis on both xp and vista, and i also have two gigs of ram. but one thing i noticed, it that vista constantly takes up half my resources at all times! pretty much leaving no room for games to "breath"! i'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for vista robbing so much resources, you would see a significant change in the overall performance of crysis.

Re: does crysis drain RAM?
I think 850w for a single 8800 setup is overkill. You don't need more then 600 watts for a single 8800 setup and really no more then 650w for a 9800 setup. Its probably more likely his cpu or vista.
