no picture when loading game

after i load rome anyhology on my pc i get a blank screen but i can hear the game in the background why is this its very frustrating. please help.

hi my other games all load normally, i have a 1.25gb ram, a 200gb hard drive, the radeon card is x300/x550/x1050 series compatable the computer is fairly new and is a hp model with intel pentium 4 processor 540. the video card and graphics are 128 3d graphics card so im not sure what the problem can be it loads rome and age of empires perfectly with great sound and picture, the requirements for this game are similar. Any ideas please help. thanks
