[SOLVED] Freeze (Crash) after around 2-3hrs playing...

so how small shud it be? i mean the silver? is it very small... can u draw it on the diagram like a small dots referring the size of thermal.. sorry if i troubled you....

it doesnt take much believe me.if you get to working it onto the cpu,and dont have enough.you can always add more you want it covered with a thin as possible layer.just start with a small dab in the center,and start working it out onto the rest of the cpu.be sure to clean any old paste off well.this may not help the problem,but should help with the funny high temp on one core.

already do cleaning and reapply the silver... theres still i see the temps rise to 100+c in speedfan... even when idle.... dun understand at all...

thats insanely hot!either the program isnt reading it right,or there is a big problem.i just noticed your location is brunei is that a very hot place?what is you average room temperature while running the pc?

well Brunei have an equatorial climate... its not a really hot place but sometimes the temps can reach 30-40C but this not really affect the comp temp as my room is air conditioned and i also put fan next to my PC.... i think that the SpeedFan gives a false reading (if im not mistaken)... after applying the small amount artic silver.... i see the temps drop using everest software (attached pic) where before it was always 31C (idle) and now its around 28-29C (idle)... well basically i found it weird that the Speedfan temps always changing between seconds (only the CPU temps tho, even when it idles)... but the GPU temps stays on specific temp only theres some processess..

and the Abit Uguru will shut down the computer immediately by giving some "beep" sounds if the temps reach 75C... well basically im freaked out by that software...heres link on my bios reading.. if im on the right track.. and please tell me what do u think and suggestions..-->

id say the temp's are fine.the bios,and everest are reporting a decent temperature.

well okay then.. glad to hear that.... i think that the freeze occurs due to i push the game settings to much (its at max mostly) and that my GPU cannot handle it for a long period of tym.. hehe... well these are just my own perception tho.. :D

well pharoah.. it never solved.. i just have to format my PC and now its new and of course i can install the directX, sadly my save game lost and also have to set the settings and etc...but now it runs fine... ive read lots of ppl talking about it from other forums too n get no help.. :)

yes i encountered the same problem i think mate. i will play cod4 for awhile and then it will crash, first it will freeze, still can hear the sound though but chokes, then sometimes i will get a black screen and sometimes the whole thing just freezes and i have to push reset button. it is crazy!! i have tried many things to try and fix this problem.

yep.. tell me one day if u got it solved other than reduce the game settings :D cheers!!
