New Rig / Games Freezeing

Hello everyone

Just finished building my new gaming rig:

TT Xaser VI
EVGA 790i ULTRA SLI
QX9650 @ 3.0GHZ
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
4GB Corsair @ 1600MHZ 7-7-7-20 @ 1.9v
BFG 9800GX2 Quad SLI @ Stock Cooling
Zalman 1000W PSU
Soundblaster X-FI Elite Pro
WD 150GB Raptor
WD 1TB 7200
Running Windows Vista 64-bit SP1

Pretty hot system, probelm is that Crysis will freeze up randomly has been that way for the past couple of weeks.
Last night I tried World of Conflict and having the same symptom there.

Temps are ffine as far as i can see
CPUs 28-36
GPUs 60-80
All drivers are current.

Would appreciate some help :)

How about the voltages? They should be fine though, that psu looks sufficient...
The freeze is just freeze, no blue screen or reboot or something like that?

sounds like not enough power or overheat, even though you are running 8 gpus in there they may get hot, but also the 9800 gx2's take 250w's of power EACH, you NEED a higher power supply about 1250w's to power it sufficiently because idly it takes only like well not much but when your running a power ***** like crysis it pushes more power to the gpus to get some decent numbers out of it so goto newegg or something and look for a 1250w power supply, that will power it and should get no crashes, also might wanna "overclock" your fans to get a little more heat outa that system, sounds hot.

First of all thanks to those who took the time to answer :)

Think i'll test a bit more before i run out and get a new PSU, but that does look like a viable option, although when i look around forums i see people running 9800gx2 QSLI with much less robust PSUs.

As for the symptoms, they are hard-lock freezes need to manualt reset the system after them.
and yes i do tend to get BSODs occasionaly with them.
Faulty memory modules maybe...will try and run memtest more and see what i turn up with.

Curiously enough when i OCd my memory the freezes became less frequent.

anyways would appreciate more angles :)

Try lowering the voltage on the ram then

Factory specs for 1600MHZ is 1.9v but i'll try.

been readng alot about the 174.74 Nvidia drivers and other previous versions....seems they been giving alot of people trouble with BSODs and crashes , especially with new cards ie 9800gx2
maybe a new driver release will help.

Tried installing Xtreme-G driver version 174.74 just before i went to bed last night.
will get home from work today and try them out.

Another thing i noticed is that while Crysis and WoC will freeze randomly and hardlock, World of Warcraft runs fine.
What could be the difference between the cases? SLI support maybe?

Or maybe that the two first mentioned are more demanding for hardware.
