having problems with getting games to work

Hi , im having problems with getting games to work, i just bought ETQW and command and conquer the first decade and they wont work on my computer, but the strange thing ism theyll work on my brothers computer which is exactly the same as mine except he thinks hes dowloaded stuff which i havent and he cant remember, inside the booklet it says that i may have to upgrade firmware to play the games,, and people at computer shops all say different things such as " you need a new graphics card" others say "need to update yor driver" and others say "you need a new CD drive", what the hell do i need, they all saying different things, oh, and iv got all the requirements it says on the back except my graphics card is one below the minimum one needed, but, again, it plays on my brothers comuter which has the saem card, same everything as mine

Re: having problems with getting games to work

Try a lens cleaner. It sounds like your CD drive is not recognising the disc. Do you have the same problem with other CD or DVDs?

If you're confident enough with PC hardware, swap out the CD drives between the 2 computers to see if your brother's drive will recognise and load the disc in your computer.

Have you updated your graphics driver to the same version as your brother's?
