Morning/Afternoon/Evening! lol.. I've been having the SAME exact problem that everyone else seems to have.. even AFTER solving my first (MSS DLL error) major crash. I load a new game on the menu screen, watch the game load entirely, then watch it crash right after the half life 2 logo appears. Seems like its the datacache.dll file. I've tried updating my video cards drivers to the newest, reflashing my system BIOS, deleting the datacache.dll, running windowed, adding the command "-no -dxlevel 90 +mat_forcehardwaresync 0" and a complete reinstall of steam/hl2 to no avail. My rig runs doom3 + expansion, f.e.a.r. + expansions, WoW, and many others on absolute highest settings with absolutely NO problems what so ever. I've heard so many good things about this game, and have been TRYING to get it working since its d@mn launch!
Any suggestions?
