8800GT or 9600GT?
hey guys im planning to buy a new video card for my system to replace my 8500GT. I noticed that the 9600GT is cheaper..which is weird cuz its also newer.. whats up with that?
I also noticed that there are many different kinds of 8800 cards. I want to keep my price range around $200. any suggestions? |

See here for a full comparison between the 8800GT and 9600GT. They're very similar in performance, but the 8800GT is slightly better with textures and shaders, which are increasingly important with modern games.
I haven't tried the newer 9600GT yet, but the 8800GT can easily be overclocked if your PSU and cooling system can handle it. BFG GeForce 8800GT 512mb PCIE 2.0 - $170 (after $30 rebate) MSI GeForce 8800GTS 512mb PCIE 2.0 - $199 (after $30 rebate)
