Computer Refuses to Run Games (Stupid computer)

Hey guys, I'm new to the whole PC gaming scene. I'm proficient with a comp and a graphic designer by profession. My question for those more experienced than me is this.... why can't my computer seem to run games that even my little brother's old hp pavilion can run? What is wrong with mine?

Here are my specs:

Mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP-M Processor 3000+ (1.71 GHz)
2.0 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Build Service Pack 22600)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS 512 ram (Driver 6.14.10.9381)
DirectX 9.0c
SoundMAX Digital Audio

Now tell me that something like that can't run a simple game like WarRock or the like? I even tested it for BF2 on systemrequirementslab.com and it passed the recommended specs with flying colors... so why does the game (any game really) get choppy, textures go crazy and crash?

If there is anyone who can help me out... I would really appreciate it.

I recently had a problem with CoD4 and my Anti Virus- maybe you have the same problem.

What Anti-Virus do you use?

do you have the latest direct x? i recently re-installed windows, installed drivers and nothing would run, so i downloaded direct x, lo and behold full fledged gaming on my new quad core (why i had to re-install i changed from single core amd to quad intel) could be your problem.

Re: Computer Refuses to Run Games (Stupid computer)

Because the 7300 is completely pathetic at gaming. Your gpu drops frames because it cannot process them quickly enough. If you would like to upgrade, please download PC Wizard from my sig and install it. THen go to FILE, SAVE AS and click OK. Then save that text file and copy its contents to this thread. We also need to know what PSU you have (brand and model).

Once you have done this we can help you decide on the best choice.
