Gears of War (PC) Issue

I have read a ton of post about problems with Gears of War but all of them are with vista. Im running XP with an AMD 64 X@ Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.o1 GHz, I have 2gigs or ram and an nVidia 7800gt. At first it ran ok, had a little lag and a few graphic issues but now it has completely stopped running ang gives me this error: "wargame-g4wlive.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I have installed the TU and made sure all my drivers are current but it just doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Gears of War (PC) Issue

Back-up your save games, and re-install the game. That should fix it...

Re: Gears of War (PC) Issue

I tried that, and even went as far as removing it from the registry but it still wont work. I have the feeling it has something to do with a DirectX patch i installed but I'm not sure. Is there a way to uninstall DirectX and reinstall?
