NFS ProStreet hangs on splash screen

OK, have followed the 10 commandments on the sticky above. None appear to apply.

Running Windows Vista Ultimate, NFS ProStreet (which has worked in the past) now hangs on splash screen - no crashes BSODs or anything else - it just hangs on opening screen and....does nothing. Normally it should run opening credits and load. Have tried re-starting in various modes and re-installing the game but the problem invaraibly returns. Would appreciate any advice

System info:

MoBo - nForce 680i SLI (revision D)
CPU - Intel Core2 Extreme Q6850 @ 3.0GhZ (o/clock @ 3.33Ghz) -liquid cooled
Graphics - 3 x Geforce 8800 GTX in SLI
Memory - 4 MB DDR2

So the damn thing should run

one thing, if its 4mb ram theres your problem lol, but it all depends on what button you press, space bar doesent work, enter yes, num enter no, keys no, esc no, f buttons no, if not screenshot of what you see and post it up, ill see what i can do. but prostreet worked fine on my old athlon xp (little laggy) and on 1gb ram dont see what the problem is

Thanks groudon for replying - of course its 4GB of RAM

Unfortunately I am travelling at the mo so can't fiddle with my rig until I get back home. I'll let u know if the situation improves - failing which I'll submit a screenshot.
