PlayOnline Version Update Communication Error

Hello, I recently installed FFXI and attempted to update the PlayOnline Viewer. Unfortunately it failed to update. I received a POL-1161 error, I have called both tech support from Square Enix and my ISP both said everything was up and running in their systems. I am clueless in terms
of troubleshooting this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I would say try out http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/ It's a ffxi site mainly used with people who have been around for a while, so they have a pretty good tech support forum. The game really doesn't have that many players, so a specific ffxi website would have better answers. Taking a shot in the dark I would say try installing PoL from their website and not a disk.
