iw3mp.exe COD 4 error/crash

i built a new pc other this past 2 weeks and i got a amd athlon 64x2 4800, M2A-VM ATi 690G AM2 ATX Motherboard 4 gigs pc 64000 ram and nvid 9600 gt oc. Activision says its a real tek error with onboard sound cards so i went and bought a new one and disabled the onboard sound. Still getting the same issue with the sound card im currently using its only a MP issue single player games work just fine. Activision is slow on responses so i was hoping you techy guys might be able to shine some light on my issue and give me new options to try. Thanks for the help in advance

put extra speakers or headphones in your mic port, it should work with them in
