Slow/choppy gameplay "vista" ?

Aight.. here goes nothing im pretty much done with trying to find this bottleneck. I have a "GREAT" computer.
1.5gb Ram DDR 400,
AMD fx-55,
8800GTS PciE,
200gb sata.
sound blaster audigy 2 ZS

I play normaly 3 games total. World of warcraft, Crysis, and maybe stalker.
on to wow. I run a big lcd, 1920x1200 so WoW should IMO be running flawlessly on this computer. not the case. if you know WoW it get 10-20 FPS in shatt. this isnt acceptable for these computer specs am I right ? well on to crysis , apart for the occasional studder from i think sound loading, I plays decent but still under par. Stalker.. wow major studder everywhere, keep in mind i dont run these games @ 1920x1200 either. normaly on the 1024x764 cant remeber the last digits. Id like some info on maybe a tool or two that can pinpoint a hardware weakness. either be ram/powersupply. or what. ive cleaned the comp monthly, and reformt bi yearly.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Slow/choppy gameplay "vista" ?

Hi, welcome to TSF

Check your temperatures and voltages with PC Wizard at startup with no other programs running, then again during gameplay (not after). Post back with a screenshot from the 'Voltage, Temperature & Fans' window for both times.

Copy down the details from the PSU label (make/model, total watts, amps for +3.3V, +5V and +12V)

Enter your full system specs into this power calculator and set Capacitor Aging to 25%. Click the Calculate button, then add 30% to the total to allow for PSU inefficiency. Post back with this figure and the PSU label details.

Which graphics driver version is installed? If you've upgraded recently, did you uninstall the old driver then install the new one in VGA mode?

Do you have the latest DirectX? Run the 2 tests in Start > Run > dxdiag > Display tab. Any problems listed in the Notes box?

How much free hard drive space is left?

Do you have any programs running in the background while you're gaming?

Looks like no change at all , and yeah i even alt+tabbed out and reloaded CPUID. ok on to the rest of the desired information. brb thanks for the reply and help tho.

Power Supply info Alienware PSU... cant seem to dig up the info on it. All the information i see on the unit itself is serial numer/s there is a part number but begins with PC- xxxx I doubt that would help in matching or finding the PSU accualy mfg and model but if it can ill post it.

Recommended PSW = 470 vista eXtreme ps calculator.

I have 120gb free HDD space.
Running directx 10 out from dxdiag. doesnt show any red flags.

Re: Slow/choppy gameplay "vista" ?

no software can tell what power supply you have.you need to look at the sticker on the side of the power supply.
