Running Dos Games on Vista

Hello, can anyone tell me how I can free more memory in order to run a Dos based game in Vista? I am using dosbox to run the program, and my computer says I am short on memory every time I attempt installing and aborts. I think my computer must be capable of running the game, as its a brand new XPS 420 by Dell. The game requires 450 kb of free memory and my computer says its about 100 kb short every time. I can have the exact numbers in about an hour or so because I am not posting from my home computer.

Please keep in mind I am poorly learned in dos and any help you give me either needs to be very explicit or has to be done through windows operating system.

only thing i can really tell you is try dosbox
