Vista Gaming Problems

I recently swapped to a Vista OS and ever since then, the games i've been playing don't work. They were fine on my old XP but now, when i play them, they work for about 5 - 10 minutes and then the game crashes. So far i have only tryed Battle For Middle Earth and Stronghold 2 Deluxe, so i am not sure if this happens to all games on Vista or just a few.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

right click the shortcut,and then click on the compatibility tab.try running those games in xp compatibility mode.also be sure to run them as administrator.
