Star Wars Republic Commando.
Okay, so here is the problem.
I just recently decided to play Star Wars Republic Commando again. I installed it and it went perfectly, or so I presume. When I get in-game I like to see which kind of graphic options I have. I had this game on my older computer with lesser power in everything and it could run it almost full on graphics. My new computer however seems to fail. I tried enable every option on maximum. I apply and start a new game. When it's done loading the first level "Beginning" it crashes before it reaches the visual section. I tried to turn everything down to Lowest and it works. Then I've played with the settings and it seems that "Bump mapping quality" on medium and high causes the computer to crash. I had no problem with that on my old graphics card which was considerably more bad. My specs: Intel duo core e6600 @ 2.40 ghz Nvidia 8500 GT @ 512mb 2 gb ram, (1gb x2, identical) 400 W PSU Sigmatel Audio - I am a little unclear on the type. Hope you can help, and please ask if I can be of any information help. |

Re: Star Wars Republic Commando.
Unfortanely, by doing some research on the internet, it seems like the Geforce 8 series do not support bump mapping in Republic commando. Other boards have stated the same and so has wikipedia. A damn shame.
