odd lines in hi-res
Specs:
core2duo 2.4ghz (oc'ed to 3.2) 2 xfx 8600gt xxx cards (sli-ed) 2 gigs ocz ram (pc6400) 120gig hd 19in widescreen i-inc lcd monitor 550w ultra connectX power supply Now with that out of the way, here's my problem: I recently added a second video card (sli.) Since then, I have noticed alot of horizontal lines appearing on my monitor while playing games at higher resolutions (1280x and what not...) What I want to know is if this is due to the added card, or if this is because of the monitor (max specified res=1440x990) or, for that matter if it is because of the games i play. Now, I must add that until I got the 2nd card, I was happy with 1024x780. In fact, at that resolution, the problem doesn't occur. When I installed the second card, I tried upping the resolution and ended up with a great look that is broken up by horizontal lines of garbage on the screen. Though it happens sporatically in most games, the ones that appear most effected are half-life 2, hl2-episode2, and the lost cost. Occasionally, it will happen when I play CounterStrikke and Oblivion as well, in the same conditions. Anywho, I just need a little help tracking down the problem and any/all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... Sincerely, Me (well, the slightly intoxicated version of me that posted this..) |

Re: odd lines in hi-res
I am having the same problem also, but my horizontal lines are on only half of my laptop screen. They are from top to bottom and very thin lines can't tell what direction they are moving in though.
oh my laptop is a Toshiba Psp30u-s609. 3.2ghz 2mb Ram. runs on Windows Xp |
