EEK! Far Cry Auto Rebooting

I have recently upgraded my system and after a clean install of Winxp and all updates the first game i put back on the system was Far Cry and the most current patch, at this point i am unable to complete the training segment of the game without my system rebooting... i can play for aprox 15-20 minutes then the system simply reboots itself, i have wrangled with possible hardware demons for over a week, monitoring heat levels(36C Idle 44C under load), swapping out ram etc. Last night i installed doom and played for over an hour without problems, both games were set to the medium graphics options by the system auto detect, so at this point i am back to thinking this has to be a game/compatibility problem. My system is an XP3200 with 1gb of ram, video card is geforce5200 running the 61.77 Geforce drivers. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Only in that game, my current load on the hard drive is only about a week old. They system can run idle for hours, complete virus scans surf the net etc.. the only time its rebooting is in Far Cry... and at this time Far Cry and Doom3 are the only games on the system.

Patch 1.1 solved a lot of problems, whereas Patch 1.2 created a lot of problems.
I use the same card as you and 1.2 is a real NO NO!
See the Far Cry forum for hundreds of problems and thankfully, some answers

Regards.
