GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
I've just started using GtkRadiant and I am using it with the game Enemy Territory ( http://www.enemy-territory.com). I've made some simple single-room maps, but I'm having lots of trouble running them. I've figured out how to configure the game to play the maps, but it's not working. I get an error message in the game that says it couldn't find the .bsp file, which is there when I manually look for it. my plea is that some one help me find a tutorial which is complete (there's a wikibook about gtkradiant, but it's not finished), and hopefully enemy-territory oriented. the current problem with the map is that when I compile it, it says 'map leaked'. Any advice about the tutorial or the comiling problem would be greatly appreciated.

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
I've fixed the 'map leaked' problem, which occured because (I am guessing) I had not surrounded my map in a wall or any thing, and light was 'leaking out'. now, enemy territory won't let me play my maps. I use the command '\devmap' to open a map, but it doesn't wortk. It starts loading (It gets to the loading screen but doesn't actually load any thing), and returns to the main menu with an error message: 'RE_LoadWorldMap: maps/numba1.bsp not found' note that my map is named numba1. If any one knows how to fix this problem or has an idea, please post.

I'll move this thread over to the Gaming forum where they might have more experience with this game map editor.

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
I had the same problem and it took me hours to fix. Build the map and put the files mapname.bsp and the folder "mapname" (with the .tga's in it) into a folder called "maps". Then select the mapname.srf, mapname.prt and the maps folder, and use 7zip or winrar to make it a .pk3(Set format to zip, compression level to store, and name to mapname.pk3) Put that in the etmain folder and run et. enter "g_gametype 2" to avoid the "not valid campaign starting point" error. then enter "devmap mapname"
aslong as you put a light and spawn point and your map doesnt leak, it should spawn you in your map. be careful though, opening the limbo menu here freezes my machine. |

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
Yeah, I got a reply on th enemy territory forum, they said to use the command '/sv_pure 0' first, then g_gametype and then devmap. This eliminates the need to make a pk3, and the maps run. I have the same problem with the limbo menu. How do you fix it, or does the problem still persist?

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
Sorry about this, I got confused with the other forum. The lImbo problem is that now that I have my map running, I can only play as a spectator and opening the limbo menu freezes the program. Any Suggestions?

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
I havent really played around with this yet (i corrupted my master boot record but as long as i diidnt restart it was fine, the limbo menu crashed my pc and made it so i had to reinstall windows) I would try adding limbo cameras.

Re: GtkRadiant 1.5 Resources
You can actually compile maps right into the etmain folder under maps and play them without packing them or anything. All you really need to do is use the dev commands:
/svpure_0 /g_gametype 2 /developer 1 /devmap [your_map_name] |
